Day 01

Airport - Colombo

On arrival at the Bandaranayke International Airport, you will be blessed to get your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality; A Representative from Island Leisure Lanka will welcome you at the Airport & proceed to Colombo.

Colombo

Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, has a long history as a port on ancient east-west trade routes, ruled successively by the Portuguese, Dutch and British. That heritage is reflected in its its architecture, mixing colonial buildings with high-rises and shopping malls. The imposing Colombo National Museum, dedicated to Sri Lankan history, borders sprawling Viharamahadevi Park and its giant Buddha.

Play a round of Golf at Royal Colombo Golf Club

The Royal Colombo Golf Club, Sri Lanka: This course is 5,770 m long (par 71). A flat course with broad fairways which looks simple enough however with many water hazards and well guarded bunkers. The Royal Colombo Golf Club is easily accessible. It is a 20 minute drive from any of the star class class hotels in the city. RCGC is the home of the Sri Lanka Golf Union, the governing body of Golf in Sri Lanka and only answerable to the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrew's in Scotland. There are only sixteen other Royal Clubs in the world which are older.

Nuwara Eliya is a city in the tea country hills of central Sri Lanka. The naturally landscaped Hakgala Botanical Gardens displays roses and tree ferns, and shelters monkeys and blue magpies. Nearby Seetha Amman Temple, a colorful Hindu shrine, is decorated with religious figures. Densely forested Galway's Land National Park is a sanctuary for endemic and migratory bird species, including bulbuls and flycatchers.

Play a round of Golf at Nuwara Eliya Golf Club

This course is reputed to be one of Asia's finest is 5,520 m (par 71). The fairways are long and narrow and bordered by fir trees and thick bushes. It demands skilful "position play" and the hilly terrain makes it essential that players can cope with up-hill and down-hill lies.

Kandy is a large city in central Sri Lanka. It's set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, which are home to tea plantations and biodiverse rainforest. The city's heart is scenic Kandy Lake (Bogambara Lake), which is popular for strolling. Kandy is famed for sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) shrine, celebrated with the grand Esala Perahera annual procession.

Visit Cultural show in the evening (Optional)

Kandy cultural show - Sri Lanka, a country rich with culture & tradition offers a very vibrant and unique show of Sri Lankan traditional dances, in the form of Kandy cultural show. The beat a dancing from "Salupliya" depicting several demons, "Thelme" vibrant expression of low country rhythm, Fire and Harvest dances accompanied by Ceremonial Drums and the Drum Orchestra rising and falling to the lively tempo. As many as 12 different folks and traditional dances are performed by Kandy lake club dance troop within the span of one hour.The Kandy cultural show is a great way to spend the evening in Kandy, arrive a little early to secure the front row center seats.

Kandy - Negombo

On route visit Pinnawela Elephant orphanage (Optional)

Pinnawela orphanage is situated northwest of the town Kegalle, halfway between the present capital of Colombo and the ancient royal residence Kandy in the hills of central Sri Lanka. It was established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Wildlife department. This 24 acres, large elephant orphanage is an also breeding place for elephants, more than twenty elephants were born since 1984, and it has the greatest herd of elephants in captivity in the world.
